La Casa del Arriero is a romantic and secluded 2 bedroom cottage sleeping 4, set in magnificent walking country. Once the old muleteers house where he and his wife raised their 10 children (!), the cottage still retains much of its original charm and character. Upstairs is a huge double bedroom which leads onto a beautiful sun terrace with 180 degree views of the woods and valley below. Cortes de la Frontera is an attractive town set into a powerful range of limestone hills which look out over a gently sloping valley of olive groves, pasture and oak trees. It is a mecca for walkers as it borders onto 2 huge nature reserves - Grazalema and Los Alcornocales. Recent cancellations mean that July and the second half of August is still free. Prices for the week are €400 / £345. Nearest airport is Jerez – fly from London Stansted on Ryanair – prices start at £135pp return.

'Casa do Brasão' (The Coat of Arms Cottage) was originally built in 1856. It is a fully restored and stylishly decorated cottage sleeping 6 in bedrooms situated near Marvão and the natural park of 'Serra de São Mamede', an area of outstanding natural beauty. This charming cottage is situated on the edge of a small, peaceful Alentejo village untouched by time. Discover cobbled streets surrounded by beautiful olive groves, cork oak trees and ancient pathways. Open for its first season, it has two weeks still available in July (11th to the 25th) plus a week still free in August (15th to the 22nd). Prices per week are €575 / £495. Nearest airport is Lisbon – flights available from London Gatwick on Easyjet – prices start at £180pp return.

Maxwells is a traditional Spanish 3 bedroom town house (sleeping 6) but with all the style and comfort of a modern boutique hotel. Situated in the middle of a pretty Andalucian village the house has been finished to a high standard and is beautifully decorated and fully equipped. A stay in this lovely house gives you a chance to unwind and relax, to celebrate, to fall in love, to be with friends... to have a holiday. Recently re-opened following redecoration, they still have availability throughout July and most of August – contact owners for details. Prices for the week are €700 / £600. Nearest airport is Almeria – flights available from London Stansted on Ryanair – prices start at £125pp return.

http://www.oneoffplaces.co.uk/Europe/Spain/Aragon/El-Portal-de-Bergos.aspx
El Portal de Bergos is not a modern villa on the busy Spanish coast but a beautifully restored house with 3 ensuite bedrooms (property sleeps 8 in total) dating from the XIV century in the heart of a medieval hilltop village 50 miles from the Mediterranean. This is the other Spain: unspoilt mountainous countryside, beautiful rivers, enormous variety of flora and fauna, and few people! The Matarranya region is full of gems – medieval villages with gothic castles, hermitages set on hillsides overlooking a patchwork scenery of olives, almonds, vines and pine forests. Here the traditional fiestas, the folk music and dancing and the gastronomy are still preserved. This world is set against the spectacular backdrop of the National park of the Puertos de Beceite, where you will find rivers with waterfalls, eagles, ibex and wild orchids. This is the real Spain that few are privileged to get to know. Amazingly there is still availability throughout July and August. Prices for the week are €750 / £645. Nearest airport is Barcelona – fly from London Stansted on Easyjet – prices start at £140pp return.
