My top five One Off Places

At the time of writing One Off Places features over 100 properties in 27 different countries. Every one of them is individual, and every one has its own character. I would love to visit them all! Here's some of my current favourites:

1. La Singlarie
4 bedroomed gite in the midi-Pyrenees, France.

This terrific gite has spacious, high quality accommodation. Situated on an organic farm it is close to all amenities, activities and places of interest. The views are spectacular, the countryside beautiful and peaceful. For those looking to get away from it all, seeking an ecologically sensitive environment, we offer the perfect holiday location.

The perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, with the opportunity to hike and take trips to the beach and surrounding area.

March 2008 Launch Press Release

FORGET RESORT APARTMENTS – HOW ABOUT A ONE OFF PLACE?

Brand new travel company, OneOffPlaces.co.uk, has just launched a unique service for those holiday makers who require individual and one off style accommodation choices around the world.

With more and more people wanting to travel, and competition being so fierce, the more individual and characterful properties are often being swamped by the resort style holiday accommodation, so One Off Places offers people the chance to book unique accommodation that is not widely known about.

One Off Places offers users the chance to search for their chosen property by location, style, type, price and facility. Once the user has narrowed down their search, they can send their enquiries directly to the property owner, so they can be sure that they are getting first hand responses and support when booking their holiday.

Tabitha Symonds, Director of One Off Places, says: “Low cost airlines and the ability to book each component of your holiday online means you have much more control over your holiday booking these days – you don’t have to rely on a travel agent to find what you want. We don’t focus solely on exclusive or luxury properties – we offer a wide range of property types and prices to suit all budgets. If you are looking for a property with a difference, away from the mass market destinations, then One Off Places will have something to suit you”.

One Off Places is already offering a large selection of properties in over 20 countries worldwide, from a hilltop priory in Tuscany, a windmill house in the Azores, a Mongolian Yurt in Portugal and a mountain top designer house in Southern Spain.

Prices start at £200 a week for a four bedroom gite on an organic farm in the midi Pyrenees in France. Wander through the woods, pick chestnuts in the autumn and sit back in the oak beamed living area to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Or head for Casa Cichella (from £500) in Italy where you can choose between relaxing by the pool, hiking in the surrounding area, or taking a digital photography course.

For a trip further afield, from £250 per week you can stay in a wooden cabin in the Lake District of central Bali from where you can go trekking the mountains, visit the bustling markets and go boating on the lakes. Or try your hand at colonial living and stay in a spectacular Sri Lankan villa set in a tropical garden with a private pool.
